Blueberries: I am aware that blueberries are good as an antioxidant, not aware of cherries. Hopefully someone else will be able to answer this.

?help in gout: There is some data that cherries may have some benefit in helping to prevent attacks of gout. Cherries are high in antioxidants which have some antiinflammatory properties.

Cherries = awesome: I agree with dr. Krauser. Cherries contain anthocyanins which help to prevent free radical damage to cells. Cherries can decrease levels of uric acid (gout).One study suggested that ingesting montgomery tart cherries helped osteoarthritis pain. One cup of cherries is only 87 calories and has 2.9 grams of fiber. Viva la cherry!
