Don't eat cherry pit: Cherry pits contain cyanide compounds, which are poisonous. If one swallows a cherry seed by accident, it's no big deal because the seed stays intact and should pass right through. Grinding up the seeds however and then consuming them could lead to toxic effects. Cyanide works pretty quickly to cause severe symptoms which can include death. Hope you didn't grind up too much of those cherry pits.
