Evaluation will tell: A consult with a GI doc is in order of course. Only medical evaluagtion can determine a cause. As with most medical conditions, if its not getting beter with treatment, go back to the doctor and let them know. Some otc heartburn meds when taken excessively or long times can actually produce more complaints and problems - so knowing medication, history and doing an exam is the first step to help.
