You need to ask them: The gaf score is an estimate of ability to function in your life. It may change from time to time depending on how well you're coping, and how your life stresses are affecting you. Gaf from an inpatient stay may be lower because the person's illness caused enough dysfunction to require admission. Gaf rises as clinical condition improves. Ask your va doctors how they measure gaf in your case.
