How long does it take to recover from over extending a knee and pulling the hamstring?

Typically 4-6 wks: Really depends on severity of injury (number of tendons involved, location of injury, etc). Low grade injury may recover in matter of weeks, more severe injury could take several months. More severe injury would be associated with significant bruising extending down thigh.

6-8 weeks.: They are slow healing and take time. Talk to your physician about physical therapy. It's usually very helpful in treating these types of injuries.
