More Fiber...: Make sure you are eating 30-40 grams of fiber per day to optimize transit through your GI tract. If still constipated despite a healthy high fiber diet and active lifestyle, then start adding stool softners (e.g. Colace), daily or every other day dose of gentle laxative (e.g. Miralax). You should try and have a bm at least once every 3 days. Consider seeing a gastroenterologist.
