Inflammation: The chest wall is particularly prone to small tears in muscle and cartilage from activity. These are innocent most of the time, but can take a while to improve because your chest wall is always in motion. Try icing the area several times a day and using Ibuprofen or something similar for relief. Like all pain, if it continues get it checked out.
