LAD in URI: Lymphadenopathy (lad) or "swollen glands" with upper respiratory infections (uris) or sore throat is common. May check for strep, but wouldn't worry about LAD if they resolve spontaneously or after treatment.

Swollen glands: I agree with as dr. Thompson, swollen glands with a sore throat and congestion are common. Generally this is all caused by a virus and is best treated by doing things to ease your symptoms and amake you feel better. If the glands are extremely tender or are in a location other than just below your jaw or the front of your neck, you probably want to make sure you don't have strep.
