Possible: When children have gas pains, they cry a lot and swallow more air. That doesn't cause cough. If they spit up a lot, they can inhale some of the milk from the stomach and this can cause cough. The best treatment is to do extra burping (at least in the middle and the end of a feeding, if not more). If the child is hard to burp, try mylicon drops to make burping better and decrease swallowed air.
