Sugar in the blood: Over time, the small blood vessels of diabetics to not respond as well to the signals from the body, causing problems with blood flow. There are many other reasons including damage to other organs. That being said, exercise is an important part of reducing the long term effects of diabetes by improving the bodies response to insulin. Well....: There are a lot of reasons. First, if you are overweight then exercise is hard because it hurts. Second, it is harder to lose weight when your baseline insulin levels are elevated (DM2). My advice is to work very hard to lose weight first with your diet. Do some walking. As your weight decreases your exercise will get easier.
