Depends: There are a lot of factors that can prolongue an episode of bronchitis. If you are healthy and have no underlying lung disease the symptoms usually start to lessen after about 4 days and may be gone in 7-10 days. However the symptoms can linger longer if you smoke, are elderly, have asthma or COPD etc.

Depends...: Acute bronchitis typically lasts for a few days to a week or 2 while chronic bronchitis is life-long with no cure. Meds will control symptoms in chronic bronchitis but there is no cure. Smoking cessation is important to decrease inflammation. Good luck!

A form of chronic bronchits can last a lfietime depending on the cause and the treatment. If you have a cough or bronchitis that is lasting longer than you think it should, get see by pcp, pulmonologist or other physician and get checke out. Testing may be necessary. Bad things can cause this.

Depends...: There are 2 types of bronchitis:acute and chronic. Acute bronchitis typically lasts a week or 2 but there is no cure for chronic bronchitis so symptoms are controlled but not cured. Chronic bronchitis is thus life-long once diagnosed so smoking cessation is a must to prevent this from developing! doctors can help with smoking cessation!
