Reactions to foods: Without other allergic symptoms it may be difficult to know the cause of your reactions. While it could be due to allergy such as food-pollen cross sensitivity it could also be due to other conditions such as gastro esophageal reflux. If there is no itching of the mouth or skin or breathing difficulty, consider getting checked by a gastroenterologist first.

Yellow vomit: Sounds like you may have vomited up some bile. Bile is the fluid stored in the gallbladder that helps the body digest fats. It is a very bitter tasting substance. If it doesn't happen again - probably nothing to worry about. If it occurs again you might want to get it checked out with a routine visit to your doctor.

Your sick but normal: Yellow is the normal color or "clearish " with less bile if your pyloric valve is competent - that is no food in your stomach at the time of vomiting totally normal. I like that better than dry heaving causes from viral - your sick to many many other etiologies - need other symptoms to diagnose.

Most efficient?: Self-induced emesis is generally not healthy. Why do you need instructions about how to make yourself vomit? Do you have a bad relationship with food? Are you trying to lose weight?

Bland diet: First let your bowels rest for a bit. Start with ice chips, then sips of water. If you have soda make sure it is flat (not fizzy). When you advance to food, start out with bland foods like toast, saltine crackers, bananas, broth. Avoid fatty foods, or spicy foods, or acidic foods. If you do have jello, don't pick any flavor that is red. If you vomit you'll panic when you see the red.
