A member asked:

Would an epi pen work if you're bitten by a venomous snake?

Unfortunately no: An epi pen is for an acute allergic reaction. This is why it works for bee stings: to treat a severe, life-threatening allergy to the sting. It does nothing to the sting itself. Snake venom is poisonous for reasons unrelated to allergy, and, as in the bee sting situation, the epi pen will do nothing to neutralize the venom itself.

No, use of correct: Antivenin is needed- not epi-pen.
