A member asked:

My friend called me up and said she took 200 mgs of tramadol. will this cause her to overdose?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Tramadol is an opiate-like analgesic medication that also inhibits norepinephrine and serotonin reuptake (like some antidepressants do) . It depends on how often your patient has taken the medication in the past but it can cause respiratory depression, seizures, serotonin syndrome, (all life threatening!) but also dizziness , nausea , somnolence. So you might need to call an ambulance!
