Meds and handwashing: Pinworms are treated with a prescription medication for parasites. Some specialists recommend treating the whole family, especially if there are younger children in the family. Good handwashing, washing clothing/bedding decreases the risk of re-infection. The eggs can collect under the fingernails, and if you have nail-biting kids, they can get re-infected if they don't wash their hands!
