Some discomfort: Any tooth extraction is a surgical procedure. Like any surgicla procedure on any other part of the body there will be some discomfort associated with the procedure once the local anesthesia wears off. Get your prescrptions filled before the procedure.

Sedation: In most cases you will receive some form of sedation as well as the local anesthetic. Having had my wisdom teeth removed i can tell you i received valium and some narcotic. Though not under general anesthesia I have no recall of the procedure.
