Many Other Issues: Hba1c: a measure of glucose bound to hemoglobin inside rbcs; this estimates glucose concentrations in the water outside the cells in the past. Rbcs typically live ~3 months, thus reflects average glucose over the last 2-3 mos; ≤5.0% best. Sugar conc. Always low in water inside cells because: (1) burned; krebs cycle, (2) stored as glycogen, (3) converted to fat & exported or (4) bound to proteins.
