A member asked:

Can a long period be caused by anemia having a really heavy flow, and am starting to have symptoms of anemia. is that a possible cause?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes.: Iron deficiency from heavy menstrual bleeding is the most common cause of anemia. The anemia isn't the cause of the bleeding. It's the other way around. See a gynecologist or your primary care physician for help.
