Does dark red blood mean you have a lot of iron in it?

Not always: It can indicate there is less oxygen in it (which is ok since it likely came from a vein, which is going back to heart to lungs for oxygenation), as arterial (/oxygenated) blood is often a rather bright red. No specific cause, just tendency.
