i've had this bump in my calf for over 10years, it hurts at times&my legs looks oddly shaped now.my old doctor said it was a fat deposit, do those hurt?

Yest: Yes they can hurt as they "press" against surrounding tissue and nerves, but they are harmless. I would also have to think about varicose veins.

As above: It seems u r not convinced with what u doctor has told u , in order to be assures , see another doctor for second opinion.
