Asthma heyfever GERD: The most common reasons for chronic or recurrent cough include asthma (especially if the cough occurs with exercise or exposure to allergens), heyfever or allergic rhinitis which causes a post nasal drip or gerd (gastoesophageal reflux disease) with acid coming up from your stomach. Your doctor can help figure out which is the cause and the best treatment. If necessary ask for allergist referral.
