Is ginger good for cough?

No.: Ginger's clinical applications are for motion sickness, (acting more on the gastro-intestinal tract, not on the vestibular-visual stimulation in a study funded by nasa), hyperemesis gravidarum, postoperative nausea and vomiting. In clinical observations, using 500 to 1, 000 mg/day of powdered ginger, 75% of arthritis patients improved as well as 100% of patients with muscular discomfort.

Yes: I personally use it when I have upper respiratory infections with bad coughing. In chinese traditional medicine it used to expel cold, warm the middle "triple heater" , warm the lungs and to liquefy phlegm.
