I was treated with pegintron & rebitol for hcv & my count increased from 130 to 460 at 48 th vial can i complete with pegasys (peginterferon alfa 2a)?

No benefit: The us preventative services task force recommends that pegintron and Pegasys (peginterferon alfa 2a) are similar enough that if someone did not achieve cure with pegintron, they should not attempt retreatment with Pegasys (peginterferon alfa 2a) since it will likely not help. Talk to your provider about new options in hepatitis c drug development and when they might be available for your genotype of hepatitis c.

No...: Since you have detectable hcv virus at the 48th and final week of treatment unfortunately you either were a non-responder or experienced a breakthrough on treatment. In either case switching to Pegasys (peginterferon alfa 2a) will not matter. Treatment should be discontinued and you should see your doctor to discuss any available different treatment regimens. Good luck!
