Eat less and do more: The best way to lose weight is to eat healthily, and take in fewer calories than you use up. This usually means smaller portion sizes and more exercise. Take a look at your diet to see if there are "hidden" sources of calories such as soda/juice, refined grains like pasta, white bread, potatoes and white rice, or lots of snacks that don't feel like a lot of snacks. Keep trying. You can do it.

Nutrient dense foods: Eat foods that are nutrient dense (like meat, fish, poultry, eggs, cheese, low starch vegatables and water) avoid foods that are not nutrient dense (like starches and sugars, including fruit) nutrient dense foods will increase your basal metabolic rate. On the other hand, starches and sugars impair thyroid metabolism via affects on your liver (which helps activate thyroid hormone).
