Contact Dr. or E.R.: A heartbeat or pulse can be felt in certain places with certain activities. However, if a person feels a pulsation in the stomach or abdomen, the concern is an aneurysm of the aorta. If the aorta keeps enlarging and breaks open, the person will die. There are other things that can cause pulsation feelings, but the aorta problem (AAA) is easily detected on ultrasound, and is potentially fatal.
