Heartbeat in stomach: This sensation can be normal but at times it may signify a bulging out of the aorta or other vessel called an aneurysm of the vessel. This could be dangerous. Best if you make an appointment with your doctor for an examination to check this out.

Common symptom: It could be a result of the heart itself resting upon the diaphragm (breathing muscle) which lies, just above the stomach. It could also mean the main artery, that feeds blood to the lower body, is being felt. Other possibilities too, since blood pulsates throughout your entire body. You should get a thorough history and physical exam, by your doctor for evaluation.
