Swallowed heart?: Just kidding! most likely you are feeling the pulsation from your aorta the large blood vessel that starts at the heart and courses down the middle of your body.

Why?: Your largest artery-the aorta passes there. If you're thin, if you press in on your stomach - it's normal to feel it. If you're feeling it while you're standing up or doing things, it may be abnormal and should be checked to rule out an aneurysm.
