A fairly: Routine exam with low risk. Can be uncomfortable and thus sedating meds may be used.

Remain calm: I just had my first colonoscopy as my 50th birthday present. I am also an anesthesiologist so i know how safe the procedure and sedation truly are. Statistically your car ride to the hospital carries more risk. You will be safe, comfortable and awaken from your sedation quickly. Trust me, i just went through it.. Good luck.
