Reduce calories: All food is energy to the body. The more food we eat, the more calories we take in. The food we eat is loaded with energy that is in the form of calories. If we take in more food or energy than we use up every day, we will gain weight. Eating less provides less calories or energy to the body so it will burn the fat in our body to release the energy in it.Less calories/ food = weight loss.

Reduce calories: Simple formula, but often tough to do: eat fewer calories than your body burns. Formulas found online can give you a guide to your body's maintenance calorie needs. A goal should be to take in at at least 500 fewer calories than required each day. Exercise can create lean muscle mass and also help you burn more calories and change your body composition. A sports med doc can help you set up a plan.
