My 4 year old son has a black spot on his scalp. it is the size of a small mole, it is soft and doesn't seem to bother him. any idea what it is?

Likely a mole: Skin imperfections are common and appear more & more as you age. I would have the kids doc look at it at his next visit to assess it's character.Most are quite innocent in that age group.
