Heparin?: Your doctor may have given you a shot of Heparin in your leg prior to your tubal surgery to prevent blood clots. This may be the bruise that you are seeing. Blood clots typically occur deep in the leg and do not generally cause you to see bruises. Rather, you would usually have a swollen tender and maybe reddened leg.

Probably not a clot: I agree with dr. Anderson, a bruise would be an unlikely sign of a blood clot. If you have pain, swelling, and or redness in your calf and/or thigh, i would be much more concerned about the chance that this could be a blood clot. If you are really worried though, see your doctor.
