Coordinating care : Most people with rheumatoid arthritis do very well. Pregnancy seems to suppress RA flares. It is important that your obgyn coordinate your care with your rheumatologist to create a plan unique to your specific circumstances. Most do great.

Rheumatologist?: Pregnancy and RA can get a little complicated, and the consequences to your baby is uncertain. I would make sure you have a consultation with a rheumatologist. Hope this helps.

Usually not: Actually, RA tends to improve during pregnancy for reasons that are not well understood. Ra will not effect the baby or the pregnancy unless there are clotting abnormalities that are rarely seen in patients with ra.
