Sepsis agent?: Sepsis or septicemia usually implies that the infecting organism is in the blood stream usually the organism can be recovered by taking blood cultures, grown on special media and identified. Rarely, an organism cannot be identified for one reason or another. An untreated UTI can however be the source of sepsis.
