Has vivelle (estradiol) dot patch ever caused heart attacks or strokes?

Yes: Strokes/ heart attacks have reported with estrogen and/or progestin therapy. Some studies showed a slight increase in risks of strokes while others indicate reduced risks. Its important that you discuss any concerns with your physician . The risks/benefits should be addressed and other medical conditions including family history are reviewed before therapy is decided. Take care.

Vivelle (estradiol) Dot: Vivelle is a transdermal estradiol. While oral estrogen is known to increase unstable plaque risk, and therefore the risk for heart attack and stroke, transdermal should not.
