PN: Sounds like you may have peripheral neuropathy, a type of nerve damage, which typically feels like numbness, tingling or burning in your hands and/or feet. Peripheral neuropathy can result from problems such as injuries, infections, diabetes, metabolic problems, medications, and vitamin B12 deficiency. Internal issue: Numbness that involves both feet either the tops or bottom or both, is a systemic issue. Meaning, it's something that your body is doing to you. If it's not going to be back related it will be a metabolic disorder. Possible diabetes or others. You need to start with an internist and they will start with bloodwork. If you have a back issue, be sure to relay this to the internist.

Depends on the cause: Numbness can occur from various reasons. Some potential causes include vitamin deficiency, nerve damage, nerve compression, alcohol over consumption, side effects of different medications, or as a result of different systemic medical conditions such as diabetes. Get evaluated by a professional to determine the diagnosis. Treatment is based on the diagnosis.
