A member asked:

I was recently diagnosed with anemia and my fingernails are turning a yellowish color. is this a common symptom?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No, but: If your nails are turning yellow, you may have jaundice, which can be associated with certain types of anemia. In that case, your urine should be dark like tea, and your eyes may be yellow. Otherwise, being very pale can make your nails appear yellow though they may not be. Find out why you are anemic by making an appointment with your doctor or a hematologist.
