A member asked:

What is lupus and what are the stages of it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Complex: Lupus is a complex autoimmune disease in which the body is attacking its own tissue. Lupus is famous for affecting different people in different ways. The effects can be so different from person to person that it does not even look like they have the same diagnosis. Lupus does not have stages and there is no single predictable progression or path that all lupus patients take.
