Supposed to take amoxicillin dose every 8 hours. what happens if you miss one dose by three hours?

Not much: If you miss a dose of antibiotic or take one late, just get back on the regular schedule prescribed by your doctor, stay on it, and you should be ok. Doses are timed to keep the amount of drug in your system at an optimal level to do what the drug is intended to do--in the case of antibiotics, they weaken or kill bacteria. A single missed dose lets the level get too low but is correctable.
