Yes: Amoxicillin gives you no degree of protection from any viral illness, including the flu. If the kid tested flu positive, tamiflu (oseltamivir) taken once daily can prevent you from developing symptoms. If you just assume it is the flu, tamiflu (oseltamivir) may or may not help.

Yes: Amoxicillin is an antibiotic which will destroy susceptible bacteria. The flu, or influenza, is caused by viruses. Antibiotics will not prevent or cure viral illnesses. Hope you stay healthy.
