Different: For deep sedation, they may have you count back from 100 at about 95 you're done counting and the next thing you know, you're waking up. You will have no concept of time, because when you're done, you will think you just had fallen asleep. But, sedation may be less deep and you will be in a very relaxed state, but able to understand what is going on, without pain.
