Several: You should expect some pain and swelling in the first few days following wisdom teeth extractions. Typically these start improving 2-3 days post-op, and resolve within a week. You should expect some occassional oozing of blood from the sites for the first 24 hours or so as well. It is also common to have jaw muscle soreness in the first week or two, which may limit your mouth opening and diet.

Depends.: The postsurgical experience of wisdom teeth extractions depends on the position of the wisdom tooth (teeth). If the tooth is fully erupted, there typically is only a little swelling and discomfort for a day or two. If the tooth is impacted, the swelling is usually greater and so it will be more uncomfortable and will last longer. Bleeding can last for a few hours after as well, but just seeping.
