Be patient.: The treatment of AML requires intensive chemotherapy and almost aways is complicated by serious infections, and rbc and platelet transfusions. Recovery is slow, and even after normal blood counts are achieved it may be 1-2 months before you really feel well again. Often additional treatment is needed after the induction chemotherapy, further delaying returning to nomal energy. It takes time.
