What happens to your red blood cells during leukemia?

Goes down: You become anemic since not able to make normal red blood cells due to. Leukemic infiltration in bone marrow, but all depends on wht type of leukemia and how bad it is.

Anemia is common.: Both during the diagnosis and during treatment, anemia is common. Leukemia and the treatments cause red blood cells not to be produced normally, which causes anemia. This often requires transfusions.
