Note: amalgam contains mercury which the epa considers hazardous waste! for larger areas: inlays, onlays or crowns: gold or other metal including titanium or semi or non precious metals, porcelain, zirconia or porcelain on metal.

Many choices!: Silver amalgam and composite resins are the most common in use today, but each of these has a wide variety to select from depending on on what tooth and where on that tooth. There is also cast gold, gold foil, indirect ceramics that are custom milled, cast non- precious...the list goes on. If you need a filling, ask your dentist what is best for your particular situation.
