M ay be: Not stress..But constant, persistent stress for a period of time...Can stimulate glutamate... And that can play a number on many different ailments. It may provoke genetic predisposition to it. However exact cause of alzheimers continues to baffle physicians.

Stress increase risk: Lifetime stress increases the risk of developing alzheimer's disease. It includes losing parent before the age of 16, doing heavy physical work and having serious illness of significant other when in 60ties.
