Treat her wrist: Many times elderly patients with other problems sometimes get overlooked and do not receive standard treatment. For your grandmother, if the fracture is severe surgical correction may be necessary. Otherwise casting or splint may be needed. She will be much more comfortable with a corrected fracture and sleep better.

Control her pain: The most important is to make sure she does not have any pain. Pain should be treated before it happens not only after it starts.
