Diagnosis exclusion: While progrss has been made, in many alzheimer's disease largely still remains a diagnosis of exclusion, as in most cases it can only be diagnosed on autopsy. It is very important to exclude other treatable causes. Meds can slow progression. There are genetic tests that can idenitify high-risk genes.
