A member asked:

Whenever i have to do a presentation or something i get panicky. my doctor prescribed me alprazolam. will that help?

Possibly: Alprazolam is a good anti-anxiety agent but may make you a little less able to function. If you want to use it, try it in your home just to see if you can tolerate the effects. A common medication for presentation and performance anxiety is the use of beta blockers like atenolol. Discuss this with your doctor as well as it usually has fewer side effects and is not a controlled substance.
