Angioedema: Severe abdominal pain with distension suggests maldigestion generating gas (usually co2). Accompanying symptoms include flatus & diarrhea. Most common cause is lactose intolerance. Avoidance of all dairy for 1 week should give you the answer. A rare but overlooked cause is angioedema due to c1 esterase deficiency. 50% are inherited, the rest new mutation. There is a diagnostic blood test.
