Depends...: On the size of the burn and its location. In general, a partial thickness (2nd degree) burn should heal in less than three weeks. Treat by washing 1-2 times/day with soap and water and then dress with Bacitracin ointment and a dry gauze dressing. If pain increases or if the burn looks infected, see a doctor.
